Autistic teen's family says police beat him

April 24, 2009 (CHICAGO0 According to relatives, Oscar Guzman was outside the family's restaurant on West 26th Street Wednesday night when two officers approached. Family members say when he was unable to answer questions asked of him, he turned to go inside the restaurant.

"My father tried to hold him back, telling them he had special needs, but he didn't listen. He struck my brother with...metal stick, I'm not sure what it was," said sister Numbia Guzman.

Oscar Guzman received eight stitches in his head.

The Independent Police Review Board says it is investigating the family's excessive force complaint.
