CPS students shop donated prom dresses

Despite the struggling economy, hundreds of female Chicago public school students are benefiting from donated dresses and formal wear for their upcoming proms.This was the 10th year for the donation program known as Operation Glass Slipper.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) head Ron Huberman stopped by an in-school boutique Saturday to thank donors and volunteers for their efforts.

Since its beginning in 1999, Operation Glass Slipper has helped 15,000 CPS girls find the perfect prom dresses.
