Traffic was backed up for miles on the Tri-State. Passengers on the Milwaukee line also had to deal with a major delay.
All lanes are now open on the tollway. Trains were expected to be getting back on schedule by noon Tuesday.
Semi accident snarls train, highway traffic
April 28, 2009 (LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.) A semi ran off the road in a construction area and struck a bridge pillar near Rockland Road.
That caused concrete and other debris from the overpass to fall onto the Metra tracks.
