Off the Street Club "Save Our Summer" Campaign

April 30, 2009 The summer camp experience provides a welcomed reprieve from the gangs, guns and violence on the west side while school is not in session.

Given the challenging economic environment we are all facing, the Bozo Ball, regularly held the first Saturday in May, will not be held. However, with the children in mind, the OTSC is hoping to collaborate with local media outlets to create and support the initiative, "SOS" (Save Our Summer). During the month of May, through a series of online and offline promotions, we will be enacting a fundraiser with the focus on sending 500 kids to Camp Mathieu. The cost per child is $500, and thus our goal is to raise $250,000, the amount normally raised via the Bozo Ball.
