Priority mail or first class?

May 4, 2009 In 8 of the 10 tests, letters sent by priority mail did not arrive any faster than letters sent using a 42-cent stamp.

Priority mail costs $4.95. That's 10 times as much.

The postal service admits priority mail doesn't guarantee delivery any faster than two to three days but says it offers other benefits like insurance and tracking.

The Daily News also tested the postal service's express mail for $17.50. It found that express mail does deliver overnight.
