New parking pay boxes will be on the streets of Chicago soon. The company Chicago Parking Meters says it will install about 3,000 more by the end of the year.

That accelerated schedule will mean about 30,000 of the 36,000 meter spaces in the city will be served by pay boxes.

The city says the company has added personnel to help make the system work better.
