A former Crestwood resident has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the village, claiming the drinking water there contributed to her husband's death. There are now four pending class-action negligence lawsuits against current and former Crestwood officials over the water controversy.

The latest lawsuit was filed on Thursday on behalf of Michelle De Kok. Her husband died in 2003 from non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

Federal investigators are trying to determine if Crestwood officials knowingly used water from a contaminated well.

Calls to Crestwood officials for a comment were not returned.
