A former officer with the Lake County Indiana sheriff's police pleaded guilty on Tuesday to stealing money from a Pop Warner Football League. Robert Porras took money from a bank account belonging to the Southlake Pop Warner Football League in Lowell when he was the league treasurer.

Prosecutors say he used the money to buy a $12,000 ring for his girlfriend, tickets to football games and vacations to Cancun.

Porras faces a maximum three years in prison.
