Man dies following South Side shooting

May 30, 2009 (CHICAGO) Kevin Clark, 45, of 1438 W. 49th St., was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 11:49 p.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman.

Clark was shot in the thigh in the 5800 block of South Laflin Street about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

An autopsy is scheduled for later Saturday.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating and no one was in custody Saturday morning, police said.

Family members tell ABC7 Chicago Clark would have celebrated his 46th birthday Sunday.
