Because of the unsafe nature of the materials, residents are being told to stay away from the site while the investigation continues. It could take months before the clean up is complete.
Investigation into NW Side hazardous waste
June 5, 2009 (CHICAGO) The economy plating company closed down in 2003. However, earlier this year, the Chicago Department of Environment discovered drums of chromic acid and other hazardous materials inside the abandoned property located in the 2300 block of North Elston.
