Even though pay-and-display boxes will be installed there, there will be signage to inform visitors about the free parking. And a special device will prohibit accidental payment.
Alderman negotiates for free parking spaces

Alderman Leslie Hairston has negotiated with the Chicago Park District to maintain 100 free spaces starting July 1 through September 7. She plans to use funds from her ward budget to pay for meter time from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
