A woman dove in to get the dog, and the child tripped and fell in the water. An adult male then dove in to try to rescue the child.
The one adult still on the boat called 9-1-1, and lifeguards responded from the beach.
No one was hurt.

June 28, 2009 (EVANSTON, Ill.) According to the Evanston fire chief, three adults, a child, and a dog were in a boat off Dempster Beach when the dog jumped overboard.
