Ordinance would limit peddlers outside Wrigley

June 30, 2009 (CHICAGO) Alderman Tom Tunney introduced the measure, which would expand the area where it would be illegal to sell food or merchandise from a cart or temporary stand for two blocks around the ballpark during ballgames.

Vendors with stands on private property would still be able to sell merchandise.

Tunney says it's a public safety issue because the sidewalks are so crowded around The Friendly Confines on game days.
