Gas main explodes in NW Ind.

A gas main break erupted into fire in northwest Indiana Wednesday morning. Four city blocks were evacuated in Hammond. It happened near 154th Street and Kennedy.

Flames were shooting up into the sky at one point. The gas migrated into the sewer lines.

Residents were asked to stay out of the area.

There are no reports of any injuries.

No word yet on what caused the gas main break.
