Police investigate carjackings

July 1, 2009 Two people have been critically injured in the separate incidents.

The first carjacking happened Monday night in the 6600- block of Stony Island Avenue. The victim had stopped at a gas station when a gunman approached him and shot him in the shoulder and chest.

Around 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, a man drove his car to a gas station in the 7600-block of South Chicago Avenue. A man shot that victim once before driving off in the victim's car.

Both victims are in critical condition at Stroger Hospital.

Police have made no arrests in either case.
