NAACP calls for justice for burned boy

July 7, 2009 Joshua Judkins was playing in a wooded area last month with some older boys. He told police that one of the teens set him on fire.

The teens say it was an accident.

The Lake County prosecutor's office says no final decision has been made on whether charges will be filed.

The Judkins family has called the case a hate crime.

"We want to express to our prosecutor Bernard Carter, the Hammond police department, the FBI and the united states attorney that we expect, no we demand justice," said Mary Aaron, Hammond, NAACP president.

Joshua has already had one skin graft and will need more surgeries.
