There's a new round of airline fare cuts as carriers try to jump start ticket sales. Southwest Airlines set off the cuts on Tuesday by lowering one-way tickets to $30, $60 or $90 each way depending on the distance traveled.

American, Delta, United and U.S. Airways quickly matched Southwest's offer along with discount carriers like Frontier and Air Tran. All are offering one way fares for under $100.

The cheaper fares are for a limited number of seats which must be purchased in the next few days.
