The Belvidere plant has been idle since the first of May when Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company planned to lay off 992 of the factory's 2600 workers later this month. That decision is now being re-assessed.

July 8, 2009 (CHICAGO) The plant restarted production on Wednesday and will operate through Friday. Then the car manufacturer will go on a two-week shutdown planned for all Chrysler factories.
