4 arrested in double shooting

Police in far southwest suburban Channahon have arrested two men and two women in connection with a double shooting.The violence started early Tuesday morning in the basement level of a two-story building.

A 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were shot in an alleged home invasion. The woman was released from the hospital, while the male victim underwent surgery Wednesday morning and is still recovering.

Four people - Jason Orasco, 24, of Channahon; Matthew Edwards, 17, of Joliet; Ashley Hill, 17, of Joliet; and Mary Vetor, 24, of Joliet - were all charged with attempted first-degree, aggravated battery and home invasion.

This is the first time the newly created Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force, shared by those two counties, has been called to help local police in an investigation. Thirty-four investigators from two sheriff's offices, six police departments and the Secret Service assisted in the investigation.
