The clerk is being hospitalized and is in fair condition.
Store clerk attacked after closing
July 20, 2009 (CHICAGO) The clerk had just locked up and left the store in the 1400-block of West Devon when he was attacked by two men. The suspects tried to force him to go back into the store to open a safe. When he told them he couldn't open the safe he was beaten, police said.
