Elton: Billy Elliot coming to Chicago

July 22, 2009 (CHICAGO) The story's about an English coal miner's son who uses ballet to escape a life of poverty. Elton John is the producer and composer. He made the announcement while at Wrigley Field before the concert.

"Chicago is a very sophisticated city, a great theatrical city. It's very important that you pick a city that is known for a huge and very enthusiastic theatrical audience," said Sir Elton John, Billy Elliot producer-composer.

Billy Elliot opens at the Oriental Theatre in March of 2010 and will remain as long as enough tickets are sold.
