Quinn helps wrap up La Raza conference

July 28, 2009 (CHICAGO) For the past four days more than 30,000 people from across the country have attended speeches, ceremonies and workshops at McCormick place.

Tuesday, Governor Quinn was one of the guest speakers. He marked the closing day, proclaiming it as National Council of La Raza day in Illinois.

"We have many people in our State of Illinois of Hispanic origin, great Hispanic Americans that believe in the American dream. They believe in working together, believe in fairness and helping their neighbor," Quinn said.

NCLR is the country's largest Latino civil rights organization. The conference ended Tuesday night with an awards ceremony.
