DUI offender gets 24 years

The suburban woman who killed a mother and her two children in a drunken-driving crash last fall was sentenced to spend the next 24 years in prison.Ann Marie Getz, 43, pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI in May.

It was November 8 when Getz ran a stop sign on Gardner Road in Grundy County and slammed into a car driven by 27-year-old Amanda Jahn.

The crash killed Jahn, her 3-year-old son Ryan and 11-month-old daughter Kaitlyn.

Getz must serve 20 years of her sentence.

Prosecutors were pushing for the maximum sentence of 28 years.
