Chicago groceries cheaper than NYC, LA

The bill for a cart full of groceries in Chicago can make you cringe. But according to a new report, it's less expensive than New York or Los Angeles.The research firm Ibis World found that the average bill for a cart containing store brand, $6 more. New York is the most expensive at nearly $7 more.

However, shoppers in Chicago paid the most when buying only organic products. Los Angeles is the cheapest place to purchase organics because of its proximity to Mexico.
