Division Street's "Tribute-A-Palooza" at She-Nannigans and The Original Mother's -- A cool and affordable alternative
July 31, 2009 Enter "Tribute-A-Palooza", the affordable, climate-controlled alternative to Lollapalooza. The day-long event will be taking place Saturday, August 1, beginning at 2pm at She-nannigans, 16 W. Division St., Chicago and continuing at The Original Mother's at 26 W. Division St. at 7pm. Featuring a lineup of top-notch tribute acts, Tribute-a-Palooza is the next best thing to Lolla, organizers say.

The eclectic roster includes tributes to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, The Beatles, Judas Priest, Primus, Iron Maiden, Metallica, The Allman Brothers and more.

"Sometimes it's hard to tell these acts from the bands they are covering," said Matt Kubinski, event organizer of Tribute-A-Palooza. "They have the costumes, the mannerisms and of course, the sound, down to a tee! Just to tie it all together, we will be giving away two pairs of 3-day VIP passes to Lollapalooza.

Tribute-a-palooza is sponsored by Bud Light and Malibu and will feature $3.50 Bud Light. Performances at She-nannigans begin at 2pm with tributes from Almost Bros. (The Allman Brothers), AntiPop (Primus), Vaseline (Stone Temple Pilots) until 7pm when the party moves to The Original Mother's for tribute music from Funky Monks (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Judas Beast (Judas Priest and Iron Maiden), Foo Nation (Foo Fighters) and Beatallica (Mash-ups of The Beatles and Metallica) until 12 midnight. A pair of 3-day passes for Lollapalooza will be given away at each venue, along with other prizes and freebies.

This is a 21 and over show, cover charge is only $2 before 7pm and $5 thereafter. Please visit for directions and more information.
