Our guest is Marc Morial, who since 2003 has been president and chief executive officer of the National Urban League. The league, which will celebrate its centennial anniversary next year, held its 99th year conference in Chicago at McCormick Place West.

President Morial was mayor of New Orleans for two four-year terms (1994 to 2002, before Katrina struck). And for the last two years of his second term, he was also president of the United States Conference of Mayors. And this year he was appointed chairman of the U.S. Census Bureau's 2010 Advisory Committee.

A key theme of the league's conference in Chicago will be The State of Black America. We'll focus on that and other issues.
