Black Women's Expo hosts panel on violence

July 31, 2009 (CHICAGO) Reverend Jesse Jackson was the moderator.

"Futures not funerals, futures not funerals," Jackson said.

Hundreds of children and parents were on hand.

Reverend Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Catholic Church told them that parents need to be more involved in the lives of their children.

"Know where your children are at. Know where they're at after curfew. Know where they're at and who they are hanging with. Parents need to get involved," Pfleger said.

The 16th Annual Black Women's Expo continues Saturday at McCormick Place.
