Can TV time affect kids' blood pressure?

August 4, 2009 Researchers at Michigan State University tracked the physical activity of 111 children aged 3 to 8.

Parents also reported how much time their youngster spent watching TV, playing video games, painting or sitting.

The results showed the children watched an average of 1.5 hours of TV each day and that did seem to impact blood pressure.

The findings were consistent regardless of whether the children were overweight or thin.
