'Scarecrow bandit' wanted for armed robbery

August 4, 2009 (CHICAGO) The suspect is wanted for the armed robbery of at least two northwest suburban banks since June.

The FBI released images of the alleged robber.

The reason he is called the "scarecrow bandit" is because he walked into the bank with a wooden broom stick and threatened employees and customers with it. He also wore a floppy hat with a full brim and plaid flannel shirt.

The most recent robbery was on July 18 at the First Eagle Bank in Hanover Park. The other was at a Citibank branch in Hoffman Estates.
