Fermi Lab to get stimulus money

August 5, 2009 (CHICAGO) The lab will receive $60 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Some of the money will be used for particle accelerator technologies which produce a highly efficient way to accelerate beams of particles and have potential applications in medicine, energy and other industries.

The lab said the new research money will also create about 125 construction jobs at the facility.
