Five hundred fifty cities are asked to participate in what is billed as the largest organized back-to-school effort in the U.S.
This is the sixth year for the march. Leaders want to make sure all fathers escort their children to school that day as a pledge of action to ensure their child's well-being and full development.
This year, the march will also reach out to the Latino community. Spanish-speaking coordinators will be talking to Latino families and Spanish literature will also be available.
