'Chicagoing Cares' focuses on organizations doing exceptional work in service to others. In this show we focus on two aspects of Education:

State Representative Luis Arroyo (3rd District) recognizes nine students from his district and awards them General Assembly Scholarships for a year of tuition at the state university of their choice. These are promising and qualified young people who have a strong desire to go to college but do not have the financial resources to do so. We talked with Rep. Arroyo and two of this years scholarship awardees.

Communites In Schools of Chicago (CISC) addresses the gap between students' needs and schools' ability to respond to these needs. CISC connects students with free social, emotional, health and enrichment programs and provides schools and the community organizations providing services with strategic and tactical expertise in effective program coordination.
