Tarantino attends Chicago Film Festival

August 18, 2009 (CHICAGO) "Inglourious Basterds" is about a renegade group of Jewish American soldiers during World War II.

Brad Pitt's character leads them on a mission to slaughter Nazi troops.

The Chicago Film Festival presented Tarantino with a career achievement award at Tuesday night's premiere.

Tarantino's new movie is already getting rave reviews and he's even taken the creative prerogative to change the way the war ended.

The director says this visit might inspire him to use Chicago as a character in a future film.

The new movie opens this Friday.
