Malalis and his girlfriend Julia Fu have been dating for five years. Julia told ABC7 Chicago she had no idea what Christian had planned. But with some help from the City Chase organizers, she was blindfolded long enough for Christian to get down on his knee.
Although he said he was nervous, Christian Malalis proposed in front of hundreds of people.
"I contacted Marsha from City Chase to see if she could help me out, and they came up with this. Go big or go home, I guess," he said.
Julia said her new ring was the most gorgeous thing she had ever seen. Congratulations to the happy couple.
