Red Cross calls off search for missing student

August 31, 2009 (CHICAGO) Twenty-eight-year-old David Gimelfarb set out on a solo hike through a dense Costa Rican national park August 11th.

His SUV was found by park rangers.

Authorities do not suspect foul play.

Gimelfarb's parents are in Costa Rica searching for their son.

A Facebook page says they have hired a group of 40 locals to continue searching, and park rangers are assisting in the search.
