Report: Drug combo to fight Bell Palsy

The odds of someone getting Bell Palsy are about one in 60. And while this facial paralysis is most likely caused by a virus, new research shows antiviral medications don't help much unless used with another treatment. Some doctors prescribe steroids alone to treat this awkward condition. Others go with the antivirals. Now, a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association finds a combination of the two medications actually works the best.

More research is needed, but scientists think the combination approach results in a better recovery for patients.
