Ministers support Davis for board president

Sept. 5, 2009 (MAYWOOD, Ill.) Davis thanked the International Ministers Community Alliance after the endorsement announcement in Maywood Saturday.

The Democratic representative is in his 13th year in Congress representing Chicago's South and West sides and western suburbs. The congressman said his priorities as board president will include better health care for residents.

"They ought not to have to wait out in the waiting room for six or eight hours before they can see a doctor. They ought not to have to come back the next day to get their prescriptions filled," he told those gathered Saturday.

Also seeking the Democratic nomination are incumbent Pres. Todd Stroger, Cook County Court Clerk Dorothy Brown, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Pres. Terrence O'Brien, and Chicago Ald. Toni Preckwinkle.
