Fathers urged to take children to school

Sept. 6, 2009 (CHICAGO) Fliers were handed out Sunday to encourage what's being called the Million Father March. Promoters say it will take place in 500 cities both in the United States and around the world.

The idea is to get children to avoid negative behavior and to perform at a higher level.

"When men take their children to school, it's like magic. The children start learning, having better attendance, higher graduation rates, and conversely, all the bad behaviors go down," said the march's Phillip Jackson.

It's hoped that hundreds of thousands of men will participate.
