Illinois soldiers come home

Hundreds of Illinois soldiers are getting a long awaited homecoming after a year long tour in Afghanistan.About two dozen soldiers of the 122nd field artillery returned to family members at the General Jones Armory on Chicago's South Side on Thursday night. They are just one of 3 Illinois Guard units returning home on Thursday. Seven others will have welcome home ceremonies on Friday.

The main mission of these soldiers was to help train members of the Afghan national army.
