Bulls-sponsored charter school opens

September 14, 2009 (CHICAGO) A dedication ceremony was held at the Noble Street Charter School campus on Monday.

Last year, the Bulls donated $2 million to create the school which is an educational model focused on scholarship, honor, discipline and fitness.

Team owner Jerry Reinsdorf had some words of wisdom for the students.

"You got there, you got into the school. You get into college. You're going to do well. So, just realize that you can do anything that you want to do. Congratulations on your being students here. And I hope to be back here in four years to congratulate you on your high school graduation," said Jerry Reinsdorf, Bulls chairman.

Two hundred and twenty nine make up the school's inaugural class.

In addition to a college prep curriculum, students will take two 40-minute classes of physical education courses every day.
