Eunice Kennedy Shriver started Special Olympics in Chicago 41 years ago.
"It really is something I think that we can take pride in but also understand that it is our job to take the baton and carry it forward that's why we're here today we want to help this cause," said Quinn.
The first Special Olympics at Soldier Field included 1,000 athletes.
Today, there are nearly 3 million Special Olympians in more than 180 countries.
