Airline to charge for advanced seat selection

September 25, 2009 Advanced seat selection for economy will cost between $16 and $32 each way, depending on the length of the flight.

Passengers will be charged $81 each way to select a roomier exit row seat.

Business class travelers on British Airways will pay up to $100 each way to select their seat. The fees begin October 7th.Passengers who wait until 24 hours before a British Airways flight will not be charged a fee and can select whatever seats are left.
