Baby mammoth coming to town

September 30, 2009 (CHICAGO) Lyuba is making her U.S. debut next spring at the Field Museum. She'll be part of a "Mammoths and Mastodons" exhibit that's scheduled to open next March.

Lyuba was accidentally discovered by reindeer herders in Siberia in 2007. Since then, she has appeared in National Geographic magazine and recently starred in a documentary.

Because the mammoth died while just a month old and has remained 98 percent preserved, scientists say she has provided them with vast new windows into the lives of the ancient beasts.
