Stroger Hospital now has a "no wait policy" for pediatric emergency room patients.Under the policy, when children are brought to the ER, they are immediately taken to an emergency bed or chair, where the child will be triaged and registered.

The doctor may even begin the examination while the parent is registering the child.

The policy was developed following concerns of parents who had to wait and with input from doctors and nurses.
