Berwyn police say the car was a relatively new black Dodge Charger. Its front end was damaged by the collision, and its hood ornament fell off.
Farias was a part of a crew restriping the road after it was repaved.
Detectives are following up on several leads.
"Traffic was flowing here. It was back and forth. Other cars stopped at the scene, once they saw the impact," said Detective Roger Montoro of Berwyn Police Department.
Investigators in Berwyn would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash.
Witnesses say the driver of the Charger sped off.
