IDOT clears company involved in Kennedy damage

October 20, 2009 (CHICAGO) Highway officials say Lorig Construction used approved mixtures and followed specifications set by IDOT and the Chicago Department of Transportation while filing an abandoned tunnel with concrete grout. That caused the pavement to buckle at Adams Street.

Two lanes of the Kennedy were closed while repairs were made.

The construction company will not be liable for paying for the more than $70,000 dollars in repairs.
