Maday sentenced to 13 years

October 27, 2009 (CHICAGO) Robert Maday was being transported to a sentencing hearing on September 17 when Cook County officials said he disarmed two state's attorney guards and escaped.

Maday led police on a manhunt that included carjackings and a bank robbery in just over a day. He was captured again after a high-speed chase and crash.

During Tuesday's court appearance in Rolling Meadows, Maday was surrounded by federal and county police officers. He was sentenced to 13-years for his escape and was also slapped with a new charge of aggravated vehicular carjacking.
