McHenry Co. sees 1st swine flu death

October 28, 2009 (CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill.) It is the first death related to the swine flu reported in McHenry County. The health department says he also had underlying medical conditions.

It is the third recent death in our area from swine flu complications.

Five-year-old Michael Siver, of Hoffman Estates, is the sixth swine flu death in suburban Cook County. And a 41-year-old woman from Gurnee was hospitalized and died October 23.

Health officials say both had underlying medical conditions.
