People in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood are celebrating now that the 31st Street bridge between Kostner and Cicero is nearly complete. The dedication ceremony was held Sunday afternoon.

For years, residents endured potholes and openings in the pavement. They organized a petition to convince the state Dept. of Transportation to fix the bridge. The project started in February and cost $6.2 million.

The bridge is part of the daily commute for nearly 16,000 people.
