Residents celebrate repair of 31st Street bridge

November 1, 2009 (CHICAGO) The dedication ceremony was held Sunday afternoon.

For years, residents endured potholes and openings in the pavement. They organized a petition to convince the state Dept. of Transportation to fix the bridge. The project started in February and cost $6.2 million.

The bridge is part of the daily commute for nearly 16,000 people.
