Nat'l Guard honors Ft. Hood victims

November 6, 2009 (CHICAGO) Members of the First Battalion, 178 infantry held a moment of silent prayer at the General Jones Armory. The unit returned from Afghanistan about three months ago.

On Friday night they reunited for a 'freedom salute.' It was a chance to thank the soldiers for their service to the country. They said it was upsetting to hear about the shooting.

"We know some people at Fort Hood. And so, it's very unfortunate. But justice will be served. We will heal and we will continue to fight," said Major Jack Erwin, St. Charles.

The soldiers' spouses and employers were also recognized for their support.
